Filum Terminale Ependymoma Mimicking Lumbar Disc HerniationAhmet MENKÜ, R. Compression of nerve fibers by an intradural mass due to filum terminale ependymoma is extremely rare and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of lumbar disc herniation. It is very important to recognize it in the postoperative period because of the changes that occur during the recovery period. Differences between epidural scar, recurrent disc herniation or spinal mass can usually be determined by magnetic resonance imaging. In this study, we also emphasized the importance of contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging.
